  1. question 1;  at 8 weeks,  they should go to the vet for baby shots and have the vet check and worm, if necessary.  I know of far too many cases of over the counter worming meds actually proving fatal especially to kittens. So I never recommend home worming.

Question 2; She's your cat, she should not have any problem with your 'handling' the kitties, however, I wouldn't pick them up too much as it can stress the kitties.  Give them a little time to grow,  4 weeks or so, then they'll be as much fun as say, a barrel of kittens !

Question 3;  Tips,  Well, let mommy do the work, keep her diet healthy and her box and baby-box clean. When they're 8 wks, take them for they're shots and checkup and find good homes for them, then please have mommy spayed.  She'll be healthier and there are already so many poor homeless kitties, it's the right thing to do .

  2. 1.  not til a minimum of 6 weeks at least, but preferrably 8+ weeks.  (bout the time when kittens start to wheen off formula/mommy milk)

    2.  Don't think they are like birds.  My 2 cats taht i own now came from a litter(the mom died though shortly after the cats were a couple months from a truck).  I pet the kittens a little because i was surprised the mom gave birth that day, she was under my shed. As for actually taking her kittens away, probably not the best idea, esp since the kittens should be feeding/sleeping.

    3. for the most part on my cat giving birth, I didn't even handles themt il 2months roughly.  I just let mom do all the hunting and feeding.  So much easier that way than having to feed formula to the kittens, especially since the mom will miss her kittens and start meowing like mad.

  3. I think they must be six weeks old to be wormed. I believe worms come from them eating dead stuff so this shouldn't be an issue yet. If the mom and babies are inside where you can find them; handling them should be fine. Just know that right now when you handle them she may move them. She just wants to protect them. Don't wait too long to interact with them or else they will be wild and impossible to catch.
