  1. I personally will never use Bars Leak on anything no matter what the label tells you, once this stuff in the cooling system, you will never get it out and also many vehicles manufacturers recommend that you dont use this product......

  2. It's good stuff and is recommended if you have drained the system and refilled with fresh anti-freeze.

  3. Bars Leak is safe as long as it's used as directed. If it says 1 can and you use 2 or 3 you're asking for trouble. It should only be used as a temporary fix though and the sytem should be completely flushed when repaired.

Bars Leak turns completely to liquid when put in the radiator and the coolant heats up. When it leaks out and hits air it hardens, thus stopping the leak. If the inside of the cooling system is already gunked up, the Bars Leak will stick to the gunk and further clog the system, especially heater cores.

  4. Bar's is a good product but is only good for a short term fix.  Double check to make sure it's not the hoses though - Bar's is a waste of money if there is a hole in the hose or if the clamp is loose.

  5. NO, none of those quick fix remedies should be used, unless your a shadey used car salesman. it fills the water passages with gunk, your heater core, radiator, and is not permanent, except for the damage it does.

  6. It works on radiators... for small leaks in low-pressure areas. However, it has the potential of making future repairs harder, as it can clog up other areas.

I'd reserve it for "it wouldn't hurt to try this and that" stage. You know what I mean. :)

  7. I used Bars Leak to stop a leak in one of my plugs in my engine, when I took my truck to a mechanic, I told him I had used, after flushing new radiator and putting in new freon, He is an excellent mechanic and did not seemed worried about using Bars...............I then replaced the old plug with new ones.

  8. I have used it and was happy with the result

  9. should only be used in an emergency,if left in it will block your radiator.
