BASIC programming, where to start?

I wanna learn BASIC programming, but I'm lost in all the translasions and such.

Where do I start?

I want a completely free compiler ad a free beginner to advanced tutorial.

  1. Freebasic - compiler - very advanced, no easy windows gui, linux and windows, recommend for nerds mostly

    Bcx - has built in windows gu, very advanced, recommended for serious window apps, windows only.

    JustBasic -  recommended for the beginner, windows only, some basic windows programming. This is the free version of Liberty Basic.

    euphoria - never really tried it and is not really basic at all. Still worth a look.

    I suggest you start off with HTML. You can get a few guides from: http://www.w3schools.com/
