Okey first of all, I have no idea how this bat got inside my house. Am currently living alone, and I have no idea what to do.

This bat scared me half to death. Lol, I thought a burglar got inside my house when I heard it, and I was like "OH ****!" But, it was just a bat (am laughing at my self, from how I reacted to it).

P.S. This bat is at my bedroom, i need to go to sleep I got school tomorrow :( and its already pass midnight. HELP :(

  1. Bats can obviously carry rabies so cover up your arms, hands and face.(If you feel threatened at all)  Take some kind of container with a lid scoop it up and through it outside.

  2. If you call animal control they will come and get it but then they'll tell your some c**p about you have to be under quarantine because of rabies or something...

So get a pillowcase and trap it...then let it go outside...we go through this all the time...

  3. Don't sleep with the bat inside your bedroom.  It could have rabies and bite you in your sleep.   If you have come in contact with the bat's saliva in any way  you need rabies shots.   Rabies is deadly.   If you can't get help to get this bat out of your house then I would sleep somewhere else until you can get someone to get it out.   There is no cure for Rabies but you can prevent it with the shots if you get them before the Rabies sets it.   Don't touch this bat with your bare hands.

  4. dude that is one funny story...

You can try to open the window in your bedroom and sleep outside of your bedroom, check in the morning it if has left. if not then just call pest control the next day or get a friend to help you get it out.

    good luck!!

  5. You should like call someone that deals with animals.

  6. See if you can catch it in a net or towel and then take it outside and let it go.  Try not to hurt it.  It probably came in through an air vent if not from an open window.

There was a bat in a building I worked in many years ago.  It flew down a hallway and landed on a clock that stuck out from the wall.  I gently pinned it using a trash bag and my hands.  I gathered it up took it outside and let it go.  The curator of the building told me later that one had gotten in the week before and she killed it with a baseball bat.  So the one I caught was definitely the lucky one.

  7. OK WELL THERE HAS BEN A FEW BATS HERE IN PUEBLO COLORADO AN THEY HAVE ATTACKED A FEW PEOPLE AN THEY NEED TO GET SHOTS AT MY JOB FOR RABIES BEST THING TO DO IS STAY AWAY AN CALL ANIMAL CONTROL SINCE THE THERE DROPPINGS CAN BE DANGEROUS TO THEY'LL COME GET IT FREE NO CHARGE AND WILL EXAMINE IT TO BE SAFE STAY OUT OF THE ROOM TO SINCE THE WINGS ARE VERY SHARP AND CAN SLICE YOU.. GOOD LUCK

  8. Go in there with a flashlight if the light isn't already on. turn on on the bedroom light as soon as you can and open your bedroom window. The bat will be attracted to the darkness outside, hopefully, and the prospect of fresh air and such.

Don't worry, the bat is more afraid of you than you are of him/her. XD.

And if it REALLY does freak you out and attack you, close the door and crash on the couch.

  9. maybe slit your wrists and feed it some blood and lead it to the window? P.S. when you feel faint or dizzy DO NOT call 911 just go to the light.

  10. You could throw your blanket over it take it outside and release it.

  11. Catch it with a cloth and put it outside...

or don't worry about it and wait till morning then call WIRES or something like that.

  12. Whatever you do...do NOT kill it.  Bats are extremely important to the ecosystem as pest control and as pollinators.  You can open the doors and windows and try to lead it out..with a broom as long as you are not hitting it with the broom.  You can also try to throw a lightweight towel or sheet over it so you can pick it up and release it back outside.  If you have any sort of net..that will work too.  You can wait until it lands..and it will be easier to capture then by placing a box over it, then getting a lid on the box and releasing it outside.  I had one in my house a while back and captured it in a butterfly net and released it unharmed outside.  Just remember, do not handle with bare hands.  Although bats are not common carriers of rabies (less than 1% of all bats carry rabies) if it is panicked or feel threatened, it may bite..best to be safe and wear gloves.  Also, look here for more tips on how to safely (for both you and the bat) get a bat out of your house.

Please do NOT listen to the uneducated hysterical people telling you bats attack people..they do not.

  13. Just get a broom and keep on whacking it until it gets out. Or shoot it down with an airsoft/BB Gun

    Or call someone/trap it.

  14. OMG that happened to me and I coward under a blanket until my husband woke up from my screaming and killed it. Ok he laughed his a** of before he killed it, but he used a blanket to swat it down, but you could also call animal control, but that will take hours or even days. Good Luck.
