BATE Borisov vs. Barcelona – Player Ratings for Borisov
Aleksandr Gutor – 5.5
The BATE goalkeeper made some very good saves and tried to keep his team into the game. However, a first half error allowed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 to score his first of the night.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maksim-Bordachov-c23213 – 5
Unimpressive performance by the BATE right back. He gave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 too much space on the wing and the Spaniard took advantage of that. Moreover, he failed to track Eric Abidal’s run number of times.
Egor Filippenko – 4.5
The BATE defender could not impress throughout the game. It seemed as if the Barcelona strikers were too hard for him to handle. He was not impressive throughout the game and often gave away possession in dangerous positions.
Marco Simic – 6
Marco Simic was quite extraordinary to avoid the aerial threat in the BATE penalty area. Despite being the best defender for BATE on the night, he was quite helpless against the quick-paced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 strikers.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Volodko-c4619 – 4.5
Aleksandr Volodko was simply poor in defence. The BATE full back could not spot off-the-ball runs made by the Barcelona strikers. His mistake in the first half resulted in an own goal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Renan-Bressan-c30813 – 5
Bressan couldn’t do much to dominate the game. He got two free kick opportunities but he was simply wasteful in both of them.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edgar-Olekhnovich-c11908 – 5
He tried to close down the Barcelona players in the midfield. He was quite successful early in the game but got tired with Barcelona keeping most of the possession.
Dmitri Baga – 4
Dmitri Baga was the worst player of the night. Not only did he lose a lot of possessions; in fact, he couldn’t track down the runs made by Lionel Messi and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Alves on his wing.
Philipp Rudik – 4.5
He was quite wasteful in the attacking midfield role. He was simply useless as he could not really connect the midfield with the attack. Moreover, he was simply useless while trying to tackle the ball away from the Barcelona players.
Artyom Kontsevoi – 6
He was BATE’s only player who tried to cause Barcelona all sorts of problems. His incredible pace was simply unmatchable. However, with Barcelona keeping most of the possession, it was hard for him to take advantage. He showed that he has the ability to
make perfect counter attacks.
Mateja Kezman – 5.5
While playing up front as a sole striker, Mateja Kezman was mostly isolated. The BATE striker rarely got to see the ball. He didn’t drop deep to collect the ball in the midfield and that is the reason why he rarely had any support up front. The second half
was relatively better as he tried to hold the ball as much as he could.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kirill-Aleksiyan-c21141 – 6
His inclusion in the team caused Barcelona a few problems. He stretched out on the left flank and managed to put in a few crosses. He was also able to give a few good touches on the ball. He clearly showed that he should have started the game for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849
Champions.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maksim-Skavysh-c23233 – 5
He rarely got the ball at his feet throughout the game. However, he wasted the only chance that he got. An incredible cross found his feet inside the penalty area but he was simply not alert to tap the ball in.
