BBC correspondent Huw Edwards expresses his love for snooker – Snooker News
British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has been a major contributor to snooker’s promotion across the world. BBC Sport always broadcasted major ranking snooker tournaments across the world not only through television screens but also through live stream
on the internet. The renowned BBC journalist, Huw Edwards is also a big fan of the game and watches every snooker event regularly.
Edwards has played the game in his youth and compiled highest break of 37. However, the journalist has never lost the love of snooker and he still watches every snooker tournament. The 50-year-old has recently emerged as a tremendous journalist especially
after he clinched the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award in 2010.
However, the BBC journalist has not lost his love for snooker and still is a big follower of the game across the world. Edwards said in his recent interview that he loves and watches the game especially the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre
in Sheffield. He was sitting in the front row during the final encounter of the 2011 World Snooker Championship where John Higgins defeated Judd Trump.
While speaking to the World Snooker, Edwards said, “I always enjoy my trips to the Crucible, and seeing the world's top players in action is such a thrill. I see lots of my BBC Sport colleagues there, and I love the atmosphere.”
He added, “I love watching snooker on TV, always have. I still enjoy watching, and I disagree with those who say the game has lost a bit of its magic. Rubbish. John Higgins and Mark Williams are my favourites now, but how could anyone not be thrilled to
watch Ronnie O'Sullivan?”
Edwards’ area of interest is politics of course but he still loves to watch and play snooker. He recently covered the wedding ceremony of Prince William and Catherine Middleton for BBC which was a great success. The renowned journalist is still looking for
some outstanding snooker events in the recent snooker season. Edwards will be hoping that this snooker season is more competitive than ever as some of the younger players are starting to show their worth and might give some of the senior players a good run
for their money.
