Does anyone have any fun adult BBQ ideas?? I'm not really looking for a theme per se...just fun things to do, eat, decor, etc...

PS: We're all between the ages of 20 - 30...and we like to drink : )

  1. If your friends like to cook, have them bring salads, so you can concentrate on the main course--meat. Try barbecuing simple things like pork chops, chicken breast or seasoned sausage, if your'e tired of hamburgers. Make bowls of tropical punches ahead of time and keep bottles of beer in a kiddy pool filled with ice so everythig is kept outside.

  2. When I am at a BBQ I just like it simple. Simple foods, simple friends (haha maybe that doesnt sound right) a little music, not too loud, just so people can hear it.

If you decide to drink more than eat... you can find drink recipes and drinking games at www.zooass.com

    I love that website.

Chicken wings are my fave, then cheeseburgers

maybe some sides of potato salad, or french fries

  3. We host one of these every year, and it is the same age range - depending on your friends and the type of people some of these might work.

first - torches for light, and bugs if you have them in your part of the world, then get a small inflatable childs pool and fill it with ice - store your beer/beverages/mixers in there and keep the recycle bins near by.  make jellow shots, hawaiian ice drinks (just shaved ice with rum and juice or vodka and juice) pornographic food is always a hit (just made a breast cake for the hubby this week for his birthday).  As for food - grill of course - do kabobs, burgers, chicken, hot dogs, fish, clams, crawfish, grilled corn, fresh fruit, meat and cheese platters as well as veggie platters, grilled fish packets and the normal picnic fair of pasta salads, and deviled egges, etc.  I never really do any desserts or sweets because most don't eat them and then I end up with a lot of leftovers that will spoil.

we also keep a couple of decks of cards on hand for poker, knock, rummy, spades and sheepshead and lunch money, good music of your choice is always great and a variety too.  We also pull out some of the kid stuff like sparklers, fireworks and other stuff for after dark.  Horse shoes and croquette work well too, and then we open the house for Rock band, various video games, play pool (we have a pool table) and trivia games.  One of the most entertaining times we had was playing Mario Party on GameCube and turning it into a drinking game.

For decor - I keep it simple, does not have to be spectacular, just a clean house, well stocked bathrooms and plenty of towels and tissue.  We entertain a lot and I have found that decorating unless there is a particular reason like 4th of july or a birthday is just not worth the trouble and the clean up.  And then we keep it simple - a few baloons, themed table cloth and napkins.

I also make sure that anyone drinking too much has a place to sleep or get them a cab.  We like our friends alive and the inconvenience of having a few extra people in the morning for breakfast is easier than dealing with a funeral.
