BBQ Propane Tanks - is there any good way to find out when the propane tank is close to empty?

It is always frustrating to run out of propane when barbequeing - is there something that measure how full the tank with propanes that works?

You can buy a "stick-on" gauge that shows the level. You can also pour hot water down the side of the tank and look at where it frosts up.

you have a short squat propane tank that when filled properly has 20 lbs of liquid propane in it.

A normal tank empty will weigh ABOUT 22 lbs,, add the 20 lbs of propane and a full tank will weigh 42 lbs.

Now all you need is a bathroom scale to weigh out  how much is left in it ,,,,from time to time. Simple isn't it??
