i can not find a BBT any where my husband and i are stationed in Germany and i cant find one. I don't want to order offline because it takes forever to get here. Is there anything else i can do to figure it out. I have a regular thermometer. i just did some research and it said that i can use that but its not as easy to use and not always accurate. is that true?

when the temperature is higher thats when i ovulate right?

I just started Clomid 100 mg today and i don't know much about it!

Thank You!!!

  1. Yes, you can use a regular thermometer and you can print off a chart from the internet to chart your temperature.

I would highly recommend that you order and read the book, "Taking Charge Of Your Fertility"  It is super well written and demystify your cycle. :-)  You will know exactly what day(s) to have s*x to get pregnant.

I do not recommend Clomid - it does work for some, but the side effects are not good - read them!  Most women can achieve pregnancy by just reading the book....

Oh, and the temperature thing...when it goes up, you have already ovulated...so, it's too late to have s*x.  You hope you had s*x the day or two before it goes up.  And then she explains that your temp. needs to stay up for 14 days to achieve pregnancy...  it will all make sense after reading and charting for one month :-)

Also, you can google 'progesterone cream and pregnancy' VERY  Fascinating :-)  I am pregnant with my second, using the natural progesterone cream ;-)

  2. You can us a regular thermometer (I have before) - it just goes to the tenths place and not the hundredths place - it's just fine though!!

Your temp will be lower for your follicular phase - when you ovulate (or right before) some women will actually dip and then their temp will go up during your luteal phase under the influence of progesterone. If you get pregnant you may have an implantation dip (lower temps than your usual luteal phase temps) and then it will be a triphasic pattern.

If you are not pregnant before you are supposed to get your period your temps will start to dip down as progesterone decreases.

    Good luck with the Clomid!!
