BCB director Enayet Hossain unhappy over Shakib-Al-Hasan axing – Cricket News Update
Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) director Enayet Hossain was unpleased with the decision to axe Shakib-Al-Hasan as the skipper of the team following a series loss against Zimbabwe.

This did not please Hossain, as he stated, “Even a person condemned to death gets the opportunity to defend himself. My question is was Shakib given this opportunity? I don’t think so.”
Apart from the performance of Shakib as captain, there were also reports of misconduct from the player, which resulted in his axing.
The director of BCB further added, “There is a code of conduct for the contracted players and you have to first see whether they breach it or not before taking any disciplinary action. The former Australian player stated that Shakib had the respect and backing from his team-mates and there were no discipline problems at all inside the dressing room. However, he was unaware if there had been some problems apart from that.
Law also confirmed that he was not consulted by the BCB before axing Shakib from captaincy. However, the coach said that there was nothing much he could do about the decision and will continue to focus his role in the team.
The tour of Zimbabwe was Law’s first assignment with the team, but it did not turn out to be as the Australian expected. The team started off losing the lone Test of the series followed by a 3-2 loss in the ODIs.
