BCCI Chairman, Shashank Manohar appears in front of Enforcement Directorate – Cricket News Update
According to recent reports, the Chairman of the Board of Control of Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shashank-Manohar-c89791, appeared in front of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), following some financial irregularities during the second season of the much hyped and
cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL), which took place in South Africa.
Previously, the IPL season 2 had already been making news with Lalit Modi, as always, being pointed out for another financial felony. The former chairman was accused of having being involved in the payments of irregular bonuses to the officials and staff
of Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mongezi-Gerald-Majola-c77649.
However, Majola recently came under fire after the external audit team, KPMG, confirmed the official’s involvement in the matter as the audit findings turned against the CEO, who had recently asserted his innocence, turning down all allegations.
With IPL, always having a fiendish monetary element attached to it, the Directorate previously issued notices to the BCCI and announced the suspension of IPL’s then Chairman and architect, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lalit-Kumar-Modi-c72144, as both were found in connection with financial irregularities,
including dubious transactions with a UK based company, the International Management Group (IMG), which was responsible for handling logistics during IPL’s first four seasons.
The ED also summoned former Indian skipper, Ravi Shastri, following the veteran’s alleged involvements into the IPL irregularities, and has been asked to aid the Directorate in answering some questions.
On Friday, the ED had summoned former Indian cricket captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ravishankar-Jayadritha-Shastri-c84254 for questioning in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the IPL.
As for the recent matter, citing his remarks for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Graham-Downton-c44379’s hearing, BCCI’s Chief Administrative Officer, Ratnakar Shetty, revealed that it was a routine enquiry by the ED.
The official went on stating that “these kind of notices keep coming and we furnish all details. Agencies like ED and I-T have been asking questions and we give answers to everything. This has been happening for over a year now."
