BCCI agrees upon http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 charity match for flood victims, says Ijaz Butt – Cricket News Update
The Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, has revealed that the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed upon organising an Indo-Pak charity match for the flood
victims in the county.
On his return from Dubai after attending http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829, who showed willingness at resuming cricketing ties between
the tradition rivals.
"I had a very good meeting with BCCI president, N Srinivasan, and we discussed the resumption of bilateral cricketing ties and also the possibility of having a charity match for the flood
victims. During our discussions, the BCCI president was receptive to having a match to raise funds for the flood victims in Pakistan," said Ijaz Butt who recently completed his tenure as PCB chief.

In his recent interaction with the media, Butt made it clear that the Green Shirts will play series in India only after the World Champions visit Pakistan for a Test and ODI competition.
Butt was recently in India where the PCB boss met the officials of BCCI and discussed the possible series between the traditional rivals. Since there are still some serious security issues
in Pakistan, PCB suggested three different neutral venues, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Malaysia-c2949, to the Indian cricket administration for the bilateral series next year.
Although, the arch-rivals have faced each other on a number of occasions in International and regional cricket tournaments, their last bilateral series was held in 2007-08 when the Men in
Green toured India.
The PCB boss also shared that even though the two cricket boards are keen to resume ties, it will take both sides some time to finalise things.
"Obviously we are keen to resume playing bilateral cricket matches and the governments have also said this should happen. I discussed this with the BCCI President and he is receptive but some
things need to be worked out," added the 73-year-old PCB chairman.
