BCCI allows India to go early to South Africa
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to allow the Indian cricket team to leave for their tour of South Africa earlier than planned in order to allow them to adapt to the conditions.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 plays three Test matches against South Africa in a series that starts from December 16. However, with the series against the visiting New Zealand team expected to end on December 10, it was earlier thought that the Indians would have difficulties in adjusting
to the different nature of pitches in South Africa. However, the BCCI has now approved of a plan whereby some of the Indian players will leave for South Africa earlier than the rest of them.

Laxman and a couple of the pace bowlers.
The BCCI chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty, said that the coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 had requested the board to send the players earlier. He said, "The plan now is to send some of the Test players early. The team management and the coach expressed the desire
that there is a need for acclimatisation in South Africa."
India has toured South Africa in 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2006 but never won a Test series in the country. They have won only one Test there in 2006, but the Indians then went on to lose that series 2-1.
Earlier, Kirsten had requested the board to reduce the number of Test matches against New Zealand to two in order to allow the team more time in South Africa before the start of the first game there.
Apart from the three Tests, the Indians also play one T20I and five ODIs in South Africa leading up to the World Cup next year.
