BCCI in no hurry to find new coach for India
The Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is not in a hurry as far as the appointment of the new Coach for the Indian team is concerned.
The BCCI President http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shashank-Manohar-c89791 disclosed that they are in the process of finding a new coach and they will find it hard to discuss the issue in the next meeting of the board's working committee which will be held on 27 April, 2011.
"We are still in the process of doing so (finding a new coach). There's no hurry as the team is leaving for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 only on June 1,"
India will be leaving in June to play a Twenty20 match, five One Day Internationals and three Test matches.
It seems unlikely that they will be able to engage a coach in the limited time available to them and they might travel with a caretaker coach.
Former coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527, decided not to extend his contract with the Indian team after leading them to the peak of cricket, clinching the coveted ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Trophy.
He was an inspirational coach who brought the shattered team together, assured and moulded them into a fighting unit and the result was there for all to see.
He was approached by the board and the team members for the extension of the contract but due to his family commitments he was unable to honour them.
There are a couple of names in circulation, Andy Flower and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Duncan-c54739 Fletcher are being linked for the position.
The current Chennai Super Kings Coach and former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 captain, Stephen Fleming has also been in the news in this regard.
"I'm enjoying coaching Chennai Super Kings. I got my hands full at CSK. It is a good experience. I haven't thought a lot about my coaching career. It is something that I'll consider as time goes on," Fleming said of expanding his career
after Chennai's http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2011/content/current/story/512256.html to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians.
"It's a great challenge for two months of the year. I am still learning my coaching philosophies as a coach in these two months."
India will be looking for a new coach who will be able to maintain their current status for quite some time in the future and put them on top of the ODI and T20, ranking as well.
