BCCI lashes out at ICC for Dhoni reprimand during the ICC World Cup 2011
The Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 furiously lashed out at the International Cricket Council for the unsatisfactory Umpire Decision Review System.
The BCCI has written to the ICC officials complaining about General Manager Dave Richardson’s rude behevior, as he criticized the Indian captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 on the
27th  of February 2011. The exciting match concluded in a last-ball tie.
The letter in which Indian chiefs condemned the inadequacy of UDRS in the on going ICC World Cup 2011, stated, “The inadequacy of the UDRS has been exposed in the CWC 2011. The group stage match between India and England was a case in point which clearly
brought out the inadequacy of the system.”
The whole controversy was created when the use of UDRS tenchnology was required when the Indian cricketer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c2820 bowled a ball, which hit English Ian Bell’s pads.
Yuvraj though that he had dismissed the English batsman, Ian Bell himself started walking away from the pitch. However, the on-field umpire declared it a not out after consulting the third umpire. The English player was relieved and continued his long partnership
of 179 runs with Captain Andrew Strauss.
The decision review system has certain rules and regulations, like if the batsman is 2.5 metres away from stumps, he will be given a not out, regardless of the trajectory of ball. The third umpire reports back to the on-field umpire to give the final judgement.
BCCI also wrote to the ICC, "ICC in consultation with Hawk Eye formed playing conditions which specifies when the umpire can rely on Hawk Eye and when he cannot. This itself is an admission on the question of reliability of the system including ball tracking
technology."
The BCCI officials also stated that the GM, Dave Richardson has no right to demoralize any player during such a prestigious and important tournament. He did this just to distract the Indian skipper, on his post-match press conference.
The entire Indian board has criticized Richardson’s rude remarks about Dhoni being ignorant of the UDRS technology, in which Richardson went on to say that the Indian captain should read the rules and regulations of the system before objecting it.
