BCCI not to intervene in Rave party incident for now – Cricket News Update
The Board of Control for Cricket in India, along with Indian Premier League’s top officials have decided to leave the matter to Mumbai Police after another unsavory incident involving IPL players took place, which saw http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WD-Parnell-c2787 being
questioned by the after being caught at a rave party.
According to reports, the alleged Pune Warriors teammates were among 94 people who were detained by the police after a raid was carried out at the Oakwoods hotel on Sunday.
The Indian Cricket Board secretary, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-Madansingh-Jagdale-c88599, revealed that while the board is well aware of the details, a final decision will only be made if the concerned players are proven guilty.
"The BCCI-IPL is aware of media reports regarding two cricketers, Wayne Parnell and Rahul Sharma, and a party in a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 hotel on Sunday evening," Indian Cricket Board secretary Sanjay Jagdale.
"There will be no further comment or action by BCCI-IPL until the results of the investigation by the concerned authorities into the above mentioned situation are known," Jagdale added.
The cricketers however, have claimed their innocence and submitted medical tests for further clarifications. Both players asserted that they were present at the hotel for the birthday party of a close friend and were not aware of the immoral activities being
carried out at the hotel. In the mean time, all arrested persons were released after their medical examination.
The BCCI have said that the players will be held accountable if they are found guilty, irrespective of the fact that their franchise had been knocked out of the competition – the Warriors finished a disappointing last in the IPL table.
"Whilst the players had completed their commitments for the 2012 IPL season, they remain contracted to Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and the IPL," said the cricket board Secretary.
The current season certainly has had its ups and down. While many have described it as the most competitive edition, the season has also been marked with disappointing lows, including spot-fixing confessions; stadium brawls, molestation offence and now the
rave party incident - hurting the image of the on-going tournament in a big way.
