BCCI orders RCB to obtain NOCs from players for revised payment schedule – Cricket News Roundup – Part 3 – August 10, 2012
The Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI) has ordered the management of the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore to obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from their contracted players regarding a new payment schedule,
after the franchise failed to pay their players on time.
“... the BCCI has asked RCB to get 'No Objection Certificate' from the cricketers on the revised payment schedule,” confirmed a senior official from the governing council while speaking to the PTI, after the RCB officials were summoned to an IPL governing
council meeting . “The franchise has promised that they would produce the NOC in some time.”
The BCCI was forced to intervene after the RCB failed to answer queries registered by the players, their home boards, and the FICA. The payment scheduled chalked out in players’ contracts dictates that the cricketers ought to have been paid 65% of their
season fee by now. However, salaries have been delayed without explanation, and a new payment schedule is due to be drafted, following the BCCI’s intervention.
