India will announce their squad for the West Indies tour on May 13 in Chennai. The squad's selection meeting is for One Day International (ODI) series and a T20 match, while the squad for the Test series will be decided later. The Indian team is expected
to leave for West Indies on June 1.
According to sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Krishnamachari-Srikkanth-c71750) is to meet at Chennai on May 13 to choose the team.”
Indian captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820, will also attend the meeting for the squad's selection for India's tour to West Indies. Dhoni, who is leading Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, will have his say in the finalisation
of the squad as well.
In order to accommodate Dhoni in the meeting, the BCCI has kept the squad's announcement after Dhoni's match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils.
They are also scheduled to play five One Day Internationals (ODIs) after the end of one T20 match against the Windies, which will be played on June 4. The ODIs will be played on June 6, 8, 11, 13 and 16 in Antigua and Jamaica.
Following the limited over series, the Men in Blue will then take on the hosts in a three-match Test series. The Test series will begin from June 20 and continue until July 10, 2011.
The venues for the three Test matches are Sabina Park, Kensington Oval in Bridgetown Barbados and Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica. However, the selection of the team for the Tests will be decided later.
India last toured West Indies in 2006 for a four-match Test series which they won by 1-0. The first match against West Indies was drawn. The second match was played on June 10, 2006 at the Gros Islet which was again drawn. Surprisingly, the third match was
also drawn. However India won the fourth and the last Test by 49 runs at Kingston.
