BCCI to pick squad for Asia Cup on February 29 – Cricket News Update
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has postponed it meeting to pick the squad for the regional quadrangular series, the Asia Cup by one day.
The BCCI selection committee was initially scheduled to meet on Tuesday, February 28, but now the team will be picked a day later, February 29, 2012. This was revealed by BCCI Secretary, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-Madansingh-Jagdale-c88599 in a statement released on Sunday.
Jagdale, in his statement, also revealed that the BCCI women’s selection committee will also meet the same day to select the squad for the home ODI and T20 series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, commencing on March 12, 2012.

29 instead of March 1," said the BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale in a statement released today, Sunday February 25, 2012.
The Men in Blue under Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s captaincy are currently touring Australia and following their poor show in the ongoing tri-nation one day series, some members of the squad are likely to come under the selector’s scrutiny, when they meet to finalise
the squad.
India will be defending their title in the four-nation tournament, scheduled to be held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 from March 11 to 22. The other two teams to feature in the regional one-day tournament are Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The opening match of the tournament will be played between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 on March 13.
The final of the quadrangular ODI series will be played on March 22 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.
The tournament was originally supposed to be held from March 1 to 12, but it was rescheduled to avoid conflict with the Commonwealth Bank series, featuring two Asian giants, India and Sri Lanka besides Australia. The tri-nation series Down Under will end
on March 8.
