BCCI to take strict measures over the Kochi Tuskers Kerala-Municipal Corporation disagreement

The Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerala-c803.
A state cricket association official maintains that the BCCI is taking the issue “very seriously”.
The Kochi Tuskers Kerala franchisee is at loggerheads with the Municipal Corporation over the entertainment tax charged on ticket sales for the Indian Premier League season 4 matches that are being staged in Kochi.
Tony Chammani, who is the Corporation Mayor, stated that the franchisee was trying various pricing tactics to evade the tax cut. The corporation has allowed a fifty percent tax waiver to the Kochi Tuskers Kerala ticket sales.
Meanwhile, the owners claimed they were compelled to pay the tax for the complimentary passes given to the Municipal Corporation.
The franchisee is determined to close the Rs.15000 ticket counter set up for the hospitality sector. The Kerala Cricket Association Secretary, T.C. Mathew stated that they will not provide any special facilities to the guest team’s owners due to the uncooperative
attitude of the Municipal Corporation.
“We will be unable to provide facilities in the section to the visiting team's owners due to the corporation's attitude," stated T.C.Mathew, the Kerala Cricket Association Secretary.
He was disappointed that a huge amount that was spent to refurbish the area will now go waste.
"It will be difficult to continue. The hospitality area is inevitable. The sponsors come under this sector and about Rs. 2.3 crore was spent to modernise the area," Mathew explained.
Mathew finds it extremely painful that the Kochi squad, which was established after facing various difficulties, is now being snuffed due to the stubborn behaviour of the corporation. He said that the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) and the franchisee will
be absolved of any responsibility if the IPL was taken away from the Kochi outfit.
Chintan Bora and Vivek http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Venugopal-c95021 said that they will seek out other alternatives for the next Indian Premier League, if the Kochi Corporation fails to fix their attitude.
Venugopal informed that they had signed a contract with the Cricket Board and the Kerala Cricket Association to grant them 5 and 15 percent free passes, respectively. The Kerala Municipal Rules state that only five percent of the tickets can be given out
as complimentary passes.
Venugopal said that it is only the franchisee’s right to decide the pricing of tickets; the corporation and the mayor have nothing to do with it.
