BCCI turns down all claims against Yuvraj Singh and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453 – Cricket News Update
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CAO, Ratnakar Shetty, has rubbished all claims against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed, who has already created a flutter across
the international cricket fraternity, asserted that he had access to the two players.
Shetty, who said that Majeed’s statements against the Indian players were nothing but wild claims, opted not to heed much into the matter, since it was nothing but false allegations.
“BCCI does not think that this is important enough to be discussed because there is no allegation against any player as such,” said Shetty.
Majeed, who was named as the prime culprit in one of the biggest cricket crimes – which involved three major Pakistani players, namely http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-Butt-c2418, also stated that the Australian players were the biggest match fixers, citing
that apart from Harbhajan and Yuvraj, Majeed also had access to former Skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brett-Lee-c48419.
However, like Shetty, Ponting’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Douglas-Henderson-c65606 as well as Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Peter Young, dismissed all claims by the agent, stating that everyone was aware that the claims were made by a person with a very dubious
repute, that have just apparently been replayed to the court.
In an operation laid by the News of the World, undercover investigative journalist, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Moin-Khan-c77092, stating that the players
also had involvement in match-fixing.
According to Mahmood, Majeed also revealed that he had met the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Ijaz Butt, and advised him to organise a limited overs competition within Pakistan, since the people are already not getting enough cricket to watch on
their home-turf.
“I had a meeting with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 about doing a domestic tournament. What we were going to do was look at putting a sponsor with each region and do a Twenty20 league because Pakistani people are not getting any cricket to watch. They will come in droves,”
said Majeed in a recording played at the Southwark Crown Court.
