BEING Writen up as a cashier for shortage?

I WAS 3.59 SHORT AND I WAS WRITTEN UP THIS IS MY FIRST TIME BEING WRITTEN UP. IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN WILL I GET FIRED. I THINK I DIDN'T COUNT MY DRAWER RIGHT OR I MUSTVE GAVE A CUSTOMER TO MUCH CHANGE I FEEL REALLY BAD ABOUT THIS?

  1. No. usually they will deducted from your paycheck, you should read the employee handbook they gave you in there they will say how many times you will be written up for shortage in cash register and what it takes to get fired or just ask your personnel manager.


  2. taking shortages from your pay is against the law.

    if your short, just try to count better the next. shortages even out because other cashiers are sometimes over. just don't bee too sort too much, that could cause you to loose your job

It depends on the companies policy on shortages and discharges.A write up is way to have a paper trail to discipline an associate.Not o say you are or are not going to get fired.This just covers your boss's tail with his boss.Somebody has to take the fall.If this is isolated incident shake it off,but if not be more careful with cutsomers.Keep a small tablet of every transaction for your records.
