  1. It shouldn't be a problem if you bring them together slowly over a period of time. Cats are selfish creatures and it takes them a while to get used to any changes in their atmosphere. Hang in there-he'll get used to it.

  2. I wouldn't worry, it sounds like they are trying to establish dominance. Usually when cats will run off when they know they can't win a fight, but you should watch them when they are "playing". Give it some time it took about a week for my cats to really get along.

  3. Unless the kitten tries to hide from the older cat or the kitten runs to you, don't worry. When the kitten gets old enough to defend itself, the play will settle down. They should never stop playing altogether until the older cat gets too old. Do not scold the older cat! He  will be hurt and at the first opportunity, he will leave.

  4. Yeah it sounds like your older cat wants to play with the kitten.  I'm sure it will be okay as long as he is not causing the kitten pain.  There's really nothing you can do but watch them try to get along.  If your kitten looks like its in pain, then break them up, otherwise let them keep playing.  It really does sound like your older cat is having fun with the kitten.  good luck!

anyhow read the link its terrific help!

  6. I think you have to let the older one do this to show the younger one who is in charge. This establishes the pecking order. They will eventually settle down, and the kitten will always know the older cat is the boss.

  7. Hi!

Okay, you're doing a good job so far.  Can you get a gate or something like it to put in the doorway of the kitten's room?  If you can, let the older cat spend some time around the gate with the kitten.  Don't allow them by each other for at least another three days.  Rub a blanket on the kitten and then casually drop it where the older cat can sniff and lay on it.  When you let the kitten come near the older cat, calm yourself down.  Animals, including cats, can sense when their owner is upset or nervous and this makes them even more nervous- which can lead to attacking.  Not good!  Once you are calmed down, let the older cat into the kitten's space.  The older cat might be getting upset because the kitten is invading it's space.  When the older cat bites the kitten, calmly lift the older cat up and hold it in another space for a minute.  You can say, "No" in a medium voice, but it's not necessary.  Introductions can take several weeks until both cats are comfortable with each other.  I hope everything goes okay with both kitties!  If you have extra questions, call up a vet.  They can help with that sort of thing, too!

    Good luck!!!

  8. Hehe I'm going through what you are now. Just watch them, (we litterally have kittens the same age) but Jack always would pounce on Felix, but it has been a 2 months and they have resolved their issues. I think Jack is bored of picking on Felix. Just always supervise them when they are together make sure the older one isn't hurting the little one. But a good thing to practice is when the older one is hurting little one say NO really firm and take little one away. That way in the future if you say no older one will let go! Hope this helps!
