BEST CANARY ISLAND IN OCTOBER?

Im booking a holiday for the 1st to the 10th of october for me, my wife, my mother, my neice (15), and our three kids (3,8, and 11). I want somewhere where its still quite hot but has quietend down a bit, and somewhere where its not a long flight. Ive been told canary islands are nice and hot in october, but ive also been told that canary islands are prone to tackyness, 'here we go' blackpool folk and loud cheesy music.

Are any of the island s not like this or not like in october ,which is the best for activites for kids, or can anyone suggest anywhere else which would be better?

I personally have found Tenerife to be far tackier than the other Canary Islands - though to be fair there are quieter areas. Gran Canaria is about the same.

Lanzarote is lovely and quiet even in high season and Feuteventura is ok too.

If you want to do water parks and camel rides, then Tenerife or Gran Canaria are best. If you are looking for something quieter, then try the other islands which still have parks and water sports.

Best Water park by far is the one in Gran Canaria (near the Maspalomas resort area) - think it is called Aqua Sur.

On Lanzarote, the fire mountain day out is brilliant and the kids should find that fascinating!

Weather wise, you should be looking at mid-high 20s. Feuteventura and North Tenerife are quite windy, but not so much so that you should discount them!

Tenerife a lovely place for families we go all the time plenty to do for the kids.  

Jungle Park

Siam park

Water park Dolphins etc.

Best part is SouthTenerife try Playa Santiago lovely  beaches plenty of shops

Loro Park in Tenerife is fantastic and well worth visiting for.

We stayed in Costa Adeje near Las Americas. Really lovely. We too were expecting english breakfast and the brits abroad but it was really nice. If you go expecting blackpool you will be pleasantly surprised!

We went to Gran Canaria last october same dates (almost)with 3 kids (2  7 and 9 )Had a great time weather very hot 32 most days.

Water park aqua sur was very quiet and lots of rides

Souix City a western style park with shows a mini zoo horse rides it was ok.

Holiday world which has lots of rides a roller coaster dodgems etc big wheel was great for all ages

Camel rides boat trips beach activities etc

We stayed in maspalomas which was very quiet but just a short taxi ride away from the more lively playa

I would highly recommend here only 20 mins from airport
