Hi,

I am in India (Bangalore) and I have recently bought ONKYO HT SR 600 - 5.1 receiever with Speakers. I want to know which is the cheapest and best DVD player that is best suited with this.

I am basically confused because of these

1. I looked at Philips DVD players and they have output frequencies of 30 to 20000 Hz. How does this affect the performance of my home theatre as it has its own frequency ranges.

2. There are DVD players with built in amplifiers. How are the different in terms of performance compared to the ones without an amplifier for this receiver?

Thanks.

  1. You don't need a dvd player with amp. Those are for all in one systems (for people who don't have a receiver). The frequency range is the output of the dvd players audio. Basically, don't worry about it because any name brand dvd player will output 20 or 30hz to 20,000 hz (all your ears can hear and a little bit more).

Any DVD will work fine for you. I would buy a less expensive but name brand because you won't have it for more than a few years (switching over to blu-ray later on).
