BEST surf spot in newport beach, ca??

where is the best surf spot in newport preferably for beginners or just surfing in general? any answers are appreciated. thanks : )

I am not sure about New Port Beach but you may want to try Corona Del Mar Beach. Smaller waves but good for newbies...JMHO..

you should go to orange county to surf

Last I looked, Newport is in Orange County!

If I were you I'd drive a little further North to Bolsa Chica State Beach. It's a GREAT beach for beginners. It's a huge beach so everybody is spread out, the locals have a much more friendly attitude and it's got rolling beach-break waves so you'll find plenty of whitewater to start off in.
