BETTA CRISIS :( :( xperts help :(?

Question

i bought a betta and it has really long tail fins and anal fins... now whenever i put the mirror in front of it it doesnt seem to flare up... like show his side gills or anything... now i am pretty sure that i have a male because of the long fins but how come its now flaring up? hes trying to attack himself but doesnt show the gills? is it because i have a female all along but with long fins?

please help... sorry for so many questions im just paranoid atm.. :*(

please answer all my question as possible :S

I'm sure he is fine, all betta's are diffrent and mabye he just doesn't like it. are you sure he see's himself? if so then he might just be a non agressive betta.

My betta has a light in his tank and if all the other lights are off he will see his reflection on the tank and he will flare up. You might try that and see if it helps.  Did you just buy it?  He may need some adjustment time.  My betta acted shy for a few days after I bought him.

my fish does flare at himself and yes yuo probably have a male but your male may be one of the nice ones (not that they are peaceful fish)

but your fish might not even care but nothing is wrong with him! he might not care about any other fish....or is just shy...fish DO have prsonalitlies. hoped i helped! yuo can email me at [e-mail]! thanks!
