I'm starting the Primary Education course at the University of the West of Scotland (Ayr) in September and was wondering if anyone who has done the course or is currently doing it anywhere could tell me what to expect when I start. Things like lectures, essays, exams etc

Thanks.

  1. I did the Secondary PGDE at Jordanhill so I can only offer a few tips regarding going out on placement:

*Be professional - Dress smart, turn up on time and be prepared for anything.

*Volunteer for everything - Placement schools fully expect you to go above and beyond in order to impress them. Jump through every hoop.

*Be reflective and determined - When things don't go your way don't give up. Go home and think about what went wrong and how you can fix it for the next day.

*Ask for help - Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It shows you recognise there are issues and you want to pro-actively deal with them.

    Hope this helps.
