  1. I can say that bad things are going to happen: earthquakes, hurricanes, disease, etc and that does not make it a prophesy.  Those things happen.  All the time.  Over and over.

I predict a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and an earthquake in Los Angeles.  Look everybody! A prophesy!  I bet a million dollars they come true.

When do I get my chapter?

  2. Will God tells us in his word how the end of times will be.

The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood.

The stars of th sky fellto the earth like green figs falling from tree shaken by mighty winds. And the sky was rolled up like a scroll and taken away. And all of the mountains and all of the islands disappeared. Revelations 6:12-14

Dear children the last hour is here. You have heard that the antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the end of the world has come. 1 John 2:18

God states us that when its near of the end of times he let us know the signs and many are in the bible,i gave you a few but there are much more. If you decided to get a bible try to get one that has many subjects that you think you may have questions about, and the bible willl give you verses that God talk about of the question you have. God BLess

  3. There are way too many quotes to post here.

For example, the Old Testament contains hundreds of predictions about Jesus 1st and 2nd comings on earth. All (*all*) the predictions about His 1st coming came true while he was here on earth 2,000 years ago.

Also Israel would once again become a nation. Israel was destroyed over a number of years culminating in the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD. Jesus not only predicted Jerusalem would fall but that in Israel would become a nation again which it did in 1948

As far as for our future, the Bible tells us the following (and more):

    - All believers will be raptured (removed from the earth) at a point in the future

    - One man will rule the entire earth

    - Babylon will once again become a city

    - The one world government will be HQ'd in Babylon

    And many more things.

  4. That worries me because people go crazy.

In fact, I can see that needs updating...  Bible is such a waster.

  5. There are many, many places in the Bible that involve prophecy. Too many really to list here in this type of forum.

Check out the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament.

Mark's Gospel chapter 13 in the New Testament

Book of Revelation in the New Testament

The Book of Ezekiel, chapter 38 in the Old Testament fortells the founding of the modern state of Israel

The entire book of Matthew's Gospel links prophecies of the Old Testament to them being fulfilled by Christ's ministry and death.

There are too many places to give you entire quotes here - may as well post most of the entire Bible here LOL  Try reading the Bible sometime

    Edit:

OK - here is just one - It's actually Ezekiel, Ch. 37 (I originally said 38, sorry, my bad)

It fortells the gathering of the Jewish people from all the nations where they have been living, and being made one nation again in the land of their ancestors:

'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. 23 They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God."

It goes on to tell about what the new residents of this land will do to transform it: (Ezekiel 36)

33 " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt. 34 The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. 35 They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited." 36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.'

    Edit:

As a few others have mentioned here, the gift of prophecy, which is one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians, Chapter 14) and is the most highly esteemed and important gift, is not "fortunetelling" or "predicting the future". It is accurately discerning what God is telling us, and how God plans on working. Go ahead and give this all the "thumbs down" you want.......

  6. There are tons of prophecies that will, and most have come true. Do some research about it and type in "Bible Prophecies" and stuff.

  7. Jesus said there would be more earthquakes and it has come true.

  8. Most people read into it.  Its like reading between the lines.  but that is where it gets tricky because people like to put their thoughts and belief and wants in there....that is how i understand it ....

  9. It did predict the coming of Christ in the OT. Most future prediction is based on the book of Revelations and the end of the world, Christs return to judge the quick and the dead. It emphasizes that no one will no when it's to happen, so live each day...

Revelations was written in a style familiar to readers between 300 BC and 300 AD. It is traditionally thought to be about Nero and the destruction of Rome.

  10. It predicts the future which is written in the bible. The bible says that the bible is true because it wrote things and then in the same book said that they came true.

    Wait, what?

    Yes, exactly.

  11. The Bible, Nostradamus, Jean Dixon, Sylvia Browne, the Delphic Oracle, etc. did not really predict anything that came true. Some con men try to say after the fact that they were accurate, but prediction is about before the fact, not after it. It is quite doubtful that Jesus ever existed, so someone saying that he was predicted and it came true is just using fantasy to try to prove predictions about him. He was surely invented to try to make it seem that some prophecies came true.

  12. the book of revelations

    isaiah

it's not "predicting" the future. It's prophesying what WILL happen. the old testament is filled with prophesies of Christ. In the new testament those prophesies were fulfilled.
