BIRDS: What other birds can 'Love Birds' go in a cage with?

i've never seen love birds in a cage with anything else and i was thinking of putting budgies in with mine.

  1. no, bad idea! lovebirds are aggressive and can even kill African greys if they wanted too. Budgies are small and almost totally defence toward a lovebird. They might seem to be getting along but one day you might find an injured budgie or a dead one!


  2. love birds are very agressive and shouldnt be caged with other birds unless its there own kind. they cant even be kept in an aviary with other birds. this answe5rs to why you dont see other birds with lovebirds.  so dont take the risk, just get it another lovebird. and make sure u slowly introduce them

My mom had a lovebird that was extremely loving to her.  Eventually we got it a plastic bird, to be funny, but he started to protect it and be mean (and even mate with it, eek!).  If you have your bird just to look at it, get another lovebird or even a budgie for it.  But if you like to take it out and hold it, then don't get another bird.

    Check out the website I listed below, it says that a single lovebird will make a great pet, while a pair will bond to each otehr and not to you.
