BJ Watling reckons improved batting in second ODI will boost team’s morale – Cricket News Update

booster for the Kiwis, going into the ensuing encounters of the series.
“A couple of batters got fifties, so that's obviously a confidence booster and we've got to keep working on it,” Watling, who scored unbeaten 72, said after the game.
“We do have an inexperienced batting line-up. These guys are on their first tour. Guys have played ten games and we don't have that Gayle at the moment,” he added further.
Thoroughly outplayed in the opening ODI of the series, at the same Sabina Park venue, the tourists struck back to an extent on Saturday, especially with the bat, with three of their batsmen scoring calculated half-centuries. Opener

Happy with New Zealand’s batting on Saturday night, Williamson agreed that they would have to convert the half centuries into three digit figures, if they are to win against the resurgent Caribbean side.
“Fifty is obviously not good enough. Someone in our top five needs to get a hundred and then we build from that.”
Having scored 60 and 72 in the opening two ODIs of the series, Watling also expressed delight over his individual performance in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 so far.
"[I] managed to find a few boundary options and get the ones away so it was pleasing, but it's obviously in a losing effort which is never too good," said the gloveman, who has so far played 11 ODIs for Blackcaps.
