There is two questions i would like to ask.

firstly i have a bmw 3series 320i saloon and i would like to use my standard head unit with my 15' subs, would this be possible or do i have to change the head unit??

secondly if i am to change the head unit is there any way of me maintaining the use of the buttons on the steering wheel after the new headunit is fitted ?

Thank you for any useful answers in advance..

  1. YOU CAN VERY WELL USE YOUR STANDARD HEAD UNIT, ALL YOU NEED IS AN AMP WITH HIGH LEVEL INPUTS WHICH IS NOT DIFFICULT TO FIND, ANY AUDIO SHOP WILL STOCK THEM

  2. You'll need a new unit with an aux socket for the amp, and a bit of facia for the head unit surround. Is it an E46? It's a shame to lose the factory unit, but the newer one looks more tasteful than I'd imagined, just get one with a red display. Get a cable so You can still use the steering wheel controls.
