2001 BMW 330ci with sports package. I need a good suspension package to lower the car maybe 1 or 2 inches. I need a good package that's not too expensive and doesn't ride hard.

any ideas?

  1. If your looking to upgrade the stock suspension check out bavauto.com they have alot of performance stuff and only sell parts and upgrades for bmws.

  2. http://www.autoinf.net

  3. bilstein always makes a wonderful suspension on audis and bmws. its great, i have bilstein shocks on my audi a4 and it lowered about 2 inches id say. rides absolutely wonderful

  4. eibach prokit.

the lowering is in that range and they make the stock sport suspensions for a number of sports car companies.

their springs are progressive so they ride relatively smooth until you really push them, then they firm up and really go.

as for the current height.  the current height is a compromise b/w handling and ground clearance, smooth comfort and performance.  if you are only riding the hwys of the USA, or most developed countries, the stock ground clearance is 1-2 inches more than the 4 necessary to safely run the roads.  lowering your car CAN (but won't necessarily depending on your driving and how you do the job) improve acceleration, top speed, fuel economy, handling and braking.

  5. The stock one is fine.. BMW didn't put the car up at the current level for just any reason..
