BMW 535i engine temperature?

Question

nothing leaks on the car (new water pump, hoses) and it runs a temp of about 185 in clean air (when moving) but pushes all the way to about 215 when idling (using an aftermarket gauge) within 5-10 minutes. cause for concern or not. preciate any insight.

that's about right.  The days of 180 are over.  Engines actually run better around 210 220..

Do you have A/C going while you were idleing? that will make the engine work harder which would make it hot

You should get it checked. Thats way abnormal.
