  1. I know that the F 800 S and ST is a single cylinder, like a big four wheeler. Sounds cool.

  2. Thumprr is spot on. Both are twins and good bikes. Keep in mind they are entry-level BMW, built to a price, and aimed at getting newer riders onto the marque. They have very different ergonomics and the ST tends to get the better reviews. I have ridden the ST and it's a nice, capable bike. It's my personal pick, as I prefer the more upright seating position and better weather protection. The belt drive is new for BMW (built to a price, remember) and lighter than the traditional shaft. Only time will tell if it's a success. As to resale, the little Beemers have plenty of decent competition at this end of the market, so I suspect they might struggle - the S particularly.

  3. The F800 series are all twins.  The older F650 was a single.  They aren't made in China, but the engine was designed in Austria by rotax.  They make great tourers, from the tests I've read.  Good mid-range power, fairly light, handle well.
