BMW GS1100 or GS1150? The price difference is substantial but how bout its performance.?

The GS1100 is affordable but what do i lose out btwn the 1150?

I've got major wood for an 04 adventure 1150, but the 02 1100 is also something I'm jonesin for.  While I can easily afford one of those, I'm pretty attached to my 94 gs pd.  I've heard the 05 and 06's can be a little touch and go when it comes to the gearbox, so keep that in mind, otherwise, they're bullitproof bikes.

best way to find out is to go to any number of bike mags and research it .dont go with mfg numbers as they are always wrong

Folks I know who have the 1150 consider it a far better bike, all round. No huge improvements, just slight advanatges everywhere. Of course, BMW are into evolution of their designs so there won't be any radical changes, so I guess you have to make your choice.  Certainly the 1100 is still a very capable bike, just heavier, uglier and with a bit less midrange.
