BMW Navigation Issue?

I have a 2003 BMW 745I. After using the navigation to find a specific restaurant, I now have X's on the screen marking the locations of all restaurants and can't find a way to remove them. The manual does not cover this, and I could not find anything in other forums. Any Ideas?????

Just use the I-drive controller to navigate out of what  POI you chose in the first place. Go to navigation in the main menu, then choose guidance to any location.

If the condition persists, try taking out the CD/DVD map, turn off the key, then after awhile turn on the key again and re-insert the map CD/DVD.

If it is still there, remove map CD,  turn off key, detach connectors to Navigation CD/DVD  player/assembly,  re-attach connectors after one hour (preferably overnight), re-insert map CD, then try it again.
