Morrison pulled in yet another eagle on the same hole, much like following his own footsteps from Day-1.
He is now settled for an aggregate of 12-under, 132, four shots ahead of the rest of the contenders in the field.
Overnight leader David Drysdale had to settle for the second spot, following the fire blitzing Morrison and pulled in another respectable round of two-under, 70 after his magical opening round of six-under, 66.
The two-time Challenge Tour winner is looking for his maiden European Tour victory and has done well over the weekend to contain the rampaging world number two Luke Donald for the moment.
He is sharing the second place with Donald for the moment as both players have now carded an aggregate score of 136.
The formidable Drysdale stumbled on an early bogey on the opening hole on the front nine but quickly regained his composure to card two consecutive birdies on fourth and fifth.
He made the turn with another birdie on the eighth, considerably nullifying his early loss in the round.
He started off the back nine with level-par holes until he clinched another birdie on 12th before dropping his second shot of the day at par-four, 13th.
He dropped another on the 15th and closed the round with a birdie on the penultimate hole.
Meanwhile, world number two Luke Donald, who is now the highest ranked player in the field after the sad departure of Rory McIlroy, shot into contention on the second day of the event, shooting another round of four-under, 68.
Donald played aggressively throughout the day, hoping to make giant strides on the leaderboard before heading into the final rounds of the star-studded event.
He said, “Obviously I’m very pleased with that round. This is a tricky course, and the scores are reasonably good. Obviously James Morrison had a great round - there are scores out there because the greens are holding. When I made bogey on 15, to finish
with a couple of birdies on 16, 17, really will make me feel a lot better going into the weekend”.
Opening with a bogey on the front, Donald made up for the loss with a birdie on the very next hole and carded another two consecutive birdies on fourth and fifth.
