BMW no power? whats happening?

i have a bmw that is ticking over but has no power.there was a problem with the water pump witch caused it to over heat, but that was sorted, now it really doesn't want to move. what could this be down to. iv'e never had a problem with it before.

Check the vacuum hose (looks like an accordion)  for leaks. If it has a rip and air escapes it could cause this fluctuation. Then follow BMWGOd's advice :)

My husbands' BMW battery went dead on him, so he couldn't get the car started.  He jumpstarted the car and took it in the dealer,

He needed a new battery!

Just in case this is your problem.  Hope it gets fixed

Ok now were getting real useful information. But now I need model and year.  BMW has been making cars for a long time and many different models. AND head gasket is still on the list of possibilities.  People HATE to hear the truth sometimes
