BMW x5 3.0 2002 head unit upgrade?

Has anyone upgraded their stock radio unit to a navigation unit? hard to do? what will i need to wire it up by myself? any ideas please. thanks

  1. I have a X5 4.4 2004 without the navigation unit (recently changed it). I went to the BMW dealership and payed for the option actually. It was around 4000 $ though. It took 4 days also. I don't think it was worth it.

    Try getting navigation from somewhere else (but it does look funny, doesn't fit in the BMW)
