BMX Lessons vs Teaching Myself...

Question

Okay firstly I want to learn to BMX and I was wondering if it were possible to teach myself because I dont have the money for lessons. Also you know on 'youtube' they have some videos with people doing BMX tricks and stuff and theyre at skatepark looking places. Are they just regular skateparks or special places for BMX riders. Cause I'd really like to find one [I live in Maryland] so yea if you live in Maryland and you know any places like that please tell me

some skateparks do not let bikes in so you have to find parks that will.  Most outdoor parks will, at least in my area.  Your best bet is to ride with people that are better than you and you can hopefully pick up some tips to get better.  Then again, some people prefer to ride by themselves so they can progress at their own rate.
