BMX bikers : Any way of keeping my new bike mine? or tracking it if it is stolen?

alright, so im just about to buy a new Fit eddie frame and build my new bike from scratch. what i need to know is, is there any devices (tracking or other wise) that i could put on or in my bike to deter it from being swiped but still keeping it light? please help! im spending gobs of money and im workin my cheeks off for this i dont want it taken.

  1. Get a good quality u-lock.  Don;t get one of the cheap ones from discount stores.  A thief can pop these cheap locks open in under 30 seconds with two screwdrivers.  

    The locks you want comes from a bike shop and has a bike replacement guarantee if it is stolen.  They run about $40.  

    Reflectors make bikes look like they came from a discount store and are less likely to get stolen.

    Be sure to record the frame serial number.  If your city has a bike registration program, use it.
