BMX question about half link chain, SHADOW?

I just got the shadow v2 half link chain and its maddd nice, but now my cranks slip or skip when i petal hard and im not sure what to do, the wheel is in there good, the chain is not to tight or loose, but it skips, i rode street all day and smashed my knees on the stem and handle bars like 100 times, did anyone else have these types of problems with there half link chain.

Im also running a 25t-8 or 9 driver if that helps, thanks

I dunno, man.....is your sprocket worn out?   If your old chain lasted long enough to wear, and if you kept riding it that way for awhile, then you could have worn out the teeth on your sprocket bad enough that they won't fully mesh with the proper link spacing on the new chain.  

Usually if the front is worn the chain will drop instead of skip.  Try watching it as you pedal the bike slowly forward and see what happens.  Try it with the brake on so you can put some pressure and see if that makes any difference.   Also, look closely to see if you have any bent or broken teeth on the sprocket.  

Assuming your cassette is in good shape, the only other think I can think of would be if your chainline got knocked way out of whack somehow.  

Those are bomber chains.  All 9 pounds of 'em.   LOL.    Hope this helps some and I hope your knees feel better soon.   :o)
