In the first semi-final match of the day, fourth seed Robin Soderling of Sweden will take on Michael Llodra from France.
World number five Soderling comes in with a win-loss record of 9-4 in Bercy. He has made it into the semi-finals of this tournament for the first time in his career. Infact, he is the first Swede to make it into the semi finals since 2001.
The tennis ace from Sweden has not dropped a single set while recording victories over Gilles Simon, Stanislas Wawrinka and Andy Roddick earlier this week.
This will be 25-year-old’s eighth semi-final in the year.
He posted his best result of the season by winning two titles in Rotterdam and Barcelona earlier in the season.
Soderling has been in the top ten of men’s world rankings since 2009.
On the other hand, French tennis star, Llodra, owns a career record of 5-5 in the semi finals.
The left hander has yet to drop a set, surpassing Potito Starace, John Isner and Nikolay Davydenko. He is the first unseeded semi-finalist at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris since 2007 when the former world number three David Nalbandian of Argentine won
the title.
Llodra’s best career ranking is 28 which will improve five places to 23 after he qualified for the semi-final and will go up by further two places to 21 if he makes it to the final.
