BOAT Question PLEASE HELP!?

I have an inboard/outboard and i lost the gas cap. The diameter measures 1 3/8 but they only sell 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 the 1 1/2 is too big. will the 1 1/4 fit?

  1. Yes... The 1 1/4 will fit! I had a similar problem... On my friends Boston Whaler he dropped the gas cap which measured 1 3/8, but since its an older boston whaler, they dont make the replacement gas cap. So we bought the 1 1/4, and it really fits just fine....

    Give these a try for your boat- I realllly like these... They are simply a flip cap like a light switch- They are cheap- And durable. And they come in pretty colors!

  2. The 1 1/4" should be your cap.  You can by a plastic one made by Sea Dog fairly cheap - less than $10 US

  3. No. it will fit loosely in the hole, but the threads are too small.  You will not be able to tighten it.
