when a modern day advert incorporates period film footage eg: from the carry on films do the advertisers pay royalties for using this footage since most of the actors/actresess are dead

  1. Yes, its nothing to do if they are dead or not.

    The production company own the rights, not the actors.

    - creators are the production company, not the actors or props
