Question:

BOXING OR KICKBOXING FOR ME ???

i'm a very health conscious person...i don't like to excercise or work out, but i like to play my favorite sports (badminton, soccer, etc)...absolutely hate running, cuz i have asthma, so the max. i can run is like 5 steps before i have a heart attack, lol...anywhooo, recently i've been really really interested in boxing/kickboxing...i really wanna try it out just for fun, not as a profession tho...i'm 19yrs old, height 5'7, 135 pounds...i have a somewat toned body, but could be better...i'm also left handed since birth...idk if that works towards my advantage...so what could i do to pursue boxing/kickboxing...like are there an boxing clubs young adults (esp. girls) could join?

is it common for girls to try this...lol, i don't wanna feel like an outsider...

  2. do kickboxing, it requires less skills and technique and its easier and its more for little girls like you  : )

  3. Well... I'd say it's better for you to do boxing since you have asthma. I've been doing boxing for 2 years and I'm a chick too and I reckon boxing involves less running so boxing is better than kick boxing

  4. Boxing all the way. It's simple, brutal, and primative. It will get you in the best shape of your life, although most girls are afraid of boxing over kickboxing which is understandable. Whatever you feel more comfortable with, I would personally go with boxing.

  5. Boxing,since you don't kick in boxing there is less to worrie when it comes to legs.

    Yes it's you'r advantage being a southpaw(i think that's what left hands are called).Because people are used to fighting right hands(forgot the name),and since southpaws do everything with the other hand,it can get confusin at times.trust me,i have experience with southpaws since most of my friends are southpaws we do some sparring and stuff.
