  1. BP Ultimate is quoted as being 97 octane, Shell V-Power 98 octane. There are probably going to be some equally minor variations in the type or concentrations of the detergents and other aditives in the two as well.


  2. the name on the pump they all get the same gas from the refinery,just like where does the milk come from bordens or surfine?????,same cows to me...

  3. They are pretty much the same but unless you have a nearly new high performance vehicle you will be just wasting your money as you will see no difference on a standard or older car.

  4. The names. These fuels are targeted at ignoramuses who have more cash than common sense. There is no benefit whatsoever in using these fuels, except for the oil company in profits.

  5. The additives each company use to "improve" the performance of the fuel make the alleged difference.

    These are added to each tanker-load at the refinery.  All the fuel companies have their own concoctions.
