  1. I got my braces when I was was 9! Wow.

Well it's going to be hard to eat for the first week or so but it will get easier. When I got mine I ate popsicles and fudgesicles. And I drank alot of diet soda since it was really cold. Cold food helps your mouth feel better and reduce swelling. It will get better soon =)

And get some wax from your ortho and put it over your braces so you don't cut your mouth. Good luck. Make sure you wear your retainer when you get your braces off!!

  2. I'm proud of your bravery!  Yes they hurt, but in time you will get use to them.  I started out on a liquid diet and worked my way to soft foods.  This is a great opportunity to lose weight.  Applesauce, pudding, protein shakes and soups are excellent to eat.  Good luck!

  3. i'm assuming that you got them on today right? It'll be sore for a few days. when i got braces i could eat normally the fifth day. You're lucky though! only 14 months! my mouth is so messed up i have to wear them for 3 years!!! You'll feel better though if you take some tylenol, or ibuprofen. hope i helped a bit :)

  4. Cold smoothies, and ice cream, darling.

    Been there, done that.

  5. It is pretty painful at first. I'm guessing the biggest reason that you can't eat is because of the metal cutting the inside of your mouth. The best way to avoid that is to get wax from your orthodontist and put it on the front of the braces until they skin gets used to the metal.
