I breed american bulldogs, and like the brindle coats. How would I get this light brindle color?

Do you think if I bred these colors together, I could possibly get it in my litters?

  1. Probably....Probably not. It all depends on Genetics......

  2. Shouldn't someone who breeds have a basic understanding of genetics?

Ask your mentor, they'll tell you exactly what you need to know, otherwise, you have no business breeding.

  3. This is a question you need to ask your breeding mentor. I bet your breeding mentor can help you out a lot more then strangers on the internet.

  4. the base color in all of these dogs is red.  Red can run the gamet from light tan to almost brown and unless the breed has been bred for a specific shade of red you can get any and all the colors in between.    Regardless you shouldn't be breeding for color.  Color is the least important thing to consider when breeding
